Good Morning, Xenia! I want to send you an exuberant thank you for your workshop of last week in Lexington. Again I repeat to you, "I HAD NO TEACHER," about the icons I wrote on my own that so appalled you. Though they appear on our Sisters of Saint Gregory website, I will direct our webmaster somehow to indicate that they were "pre Xenia," so as not to embarrass you. I am unspeakably grateful to God that you were gifted and enabled to teach us so many things. In His Splendor, Ursula Beguine, SSG (aka: Cheryl Hendrick)

A comment from webmaster: We disabled the link above under 'painting' because the contents of the site, it points to, perhaps is valuable by itself, but it is though ethically incompatible with the contents of our site.
Thank you for sharing with us the unique beauty of icons. And thank you for actively passing on your icon painting expertise to the present generation of iconographers.

Lev, Mrs. Pokrovsky's work is very impressive. The detail of her work seems to make the picture speak. Because I am not well versed in these matters, I am sure I cannot grasp the fullness of the art, however, all of them have the ability to reach the soul and stir the senses. I will put the site in my favorites, and study more about them. I am curious to learn more about them. I am sure that the more I learn, the more I will enjoy them. the site itself is very impressive also. It is very easy to manuver and follow. Maybe I can send questions to you sometime, and you can help me with some of the understanding. Thank you very much for directing me to the site....By the way, you and your wife make a beautiful couple. Best wishes to both of you, and thank you again.
